From the first conversation I had with Ali and Joey about shooting their wedding in Bragg Creek I knew that it was going to be crazy fun. They envisioned a low key, relaxed day with amazing food and a wild party and they definitely delivered! Early on in the planning Ali told me that she was obsessed with tiny hands and that Joey was a big Darth Vader fan and both would be making an appearance at the wedding. Its these quirky personal touches that make shooting weddings so exciting for me. The Boutique Estate is such an awesome wedding venue that is close to the Calgary but just far enough to make it feel like a getaway. It has it all from a beautiful house to get ready in and a lake complete with a rowboat and a dock.

They spent the night before the wedding at the Boutique Estate with their bridal party and had a cereal buffet for breakfast. It was such a chill vibe when I showed up, the girls were hanging out getting their hair and makeup done and eating sandwiches and the guys were having beers on the lawn. Ali rocked a red lip with her dress which I was so excited about because it completely matches her big personality.

Joey waited for Ali on the dock for their first look and then we wandered around the property with their crew and took photos. The ceremony was so sweet and emotional and filled with a lot of laughter and even more tears. The dinner from Farm Girls food truck was no joke, the best meal of my whole wedding season. I’m literally still dreaming of the yam scalloped potatoes and have (unsuccessfully) tried to recreate them many times. The dance party was so wild and at the end of the evening as the guests hug out on the deck and watched the sun set over the lake Ali performed an interpretative dance for them all with a cocktail in her hand.
