As an Alberta wedding photographer I’m always excited to discover new venues that offer unique backdrops for couples to celebrate their day. I’m a firm believer that choosing the right venue can make or break your day. Also, hot tip, the more beautiful of a venue you choose for your wedding then the less money you have to spend on decor trying to make it beautiful. Whether you’re dreaming of rustic charm, modern elegance or breathtaking outdoor scenery, Alberta’s latest wedding venues offer something special for every couple. Here are 10 new Alberta wedding venues that I’m excited to work at and why they might be the perfect location for your wedding!
Archway Manor - Red Deer County
What I love about it
Archway Manor offers a taste of Europe in Alberta. The architecture and grounds are absolutely gorgeous and I love that the indoor options are just as pretty as outside. It’s light and bright so every part of your day will be stunning and easy to photograph. The European inspired staircases, ballrooms and terraces will give you photos an elegant vibe. I also love the ease and convenience of a venue that offers everything in one location, it makes your timeline so much more relaxed and its and amazing experience for your guests.
The Details
Archway Manor is located in Red Deer County, approximately a one hour drive from Calgary. It has an onsite kitchen so you can bring in your own catering. It’s an amazing venue for getting ready, with its own bridal suite and groom room, which makes it easy for your photographer to move back and forth between the two of you. There are a few ceremony location options, with outdoor seating for up to 170 guests. Your guests will find it so easy to be present and enjoy your day by staying onsite in one of the 25 camping spots. There is also a luxurious cottage for the bride and groom to spend their wedding night.
The Princeton - Downtown Calgary
What I love about it
The Princeton is a very new venue on the Calgary wedding scene. It’s in a beautiful, brick historic building in Calgary’s vibrant Victoria Park with Calgary’s most amazing restaurants, bars and hotels within walking distance. What makes the Princeton unique is the attention to detail inside the space. The building is newly renovated so it’s light and bright but still retains that historic, European inspired vibe. Another amazing feature of the Princeton is the stunning rooftop patio with views of downtown. It has two main event spaces for weddings, the Winston Room (Main Floor) and the rooftop patio. From a photographer’s perspective, the Princeton is so versatile with the indoor spaces and then all of the amazing downtown Calgary locations a short walk away. This venue really gives a cool urban vibe and we are so lucky to have it in Calgary.
The Details
The Princeton was built in 1912 and has over 10,000 square feet of event space including with the main floor, loft and rooftop patio (featuring an outdoor bar and fireplace). It has elegant, neutral indoor finishings so you can really design it to fit your vision. It is located in Victoria Park on the corner of 12 Ave SW and 1st Street SW.
True Wild Distilling - Calgary
What I love about it
Calgary has so many amazing wedding venues that I love shooting at it it’s always super exciting to have a new venue in the city. I recently saw a friend share a video of her date night and True Wild Distilling and immediately googled it because I knew it would be an amazing wedding venue. It’s located in a heritage building so it has that historic vibe but the inside has been restored beautifully with chandeliers, stained glass and a modern bar. It’s in the Inglewood neighbourhood in Calgary so there are endless photo locations and nearby as well as accommodations and dining for your guests. I love that it’s a distillery, so you know the cocktails will be expertly curated. The building has a live fire restaurant so the menu has so many delicious options and will wow your guests. This is a truly unique venue in Calgary and I can’t wait to work here.

True Wild Distilling is an amazing experience for you and your guests to enjoy expertly curated bites by leading culinary minds, sip spirits and cocktails crafted right in front of them and take part in an exclusive tour of this historic property. With multiple spaces to choose from including a picturesque outdoor patio, a semi-private mezzanine and a fully private second-story area equipped with its own bar and the sparkle from 10ft chandeliers, there’s no shortage of unique space at True Wild.
The Valley Weddings - Westerose
What I love about it
This venue is so stunning that it looks like a dream, I’m sure its on everyone’s Pinterest board. It features a modern timber and black frame greenhouse in the middle of the forest with a gorgeous patio and two different ceremony options. I love that this venue is so unique and not what you usually picture from an Alberta wedding venue. The grounds are so stunning that you can do all of your photos on site and have so many different location options. There is a bridal suite and groom getting ready space onsite so you can spend the whole wedding day at the venue. I’m dying to shoot here and if you’re thinking of booking your wedding at The Valley I really hope that this post connects us.
The Details
The Valley Weddings is located near Pigeon Lake, an hour north of Red Deer and about a 2 hour drive from Calgary. There is a kitchen facility, washroom, bridal suite, groom rom, the greenhouse, two ceremony spots and an outdoor patio onsite. The venue will take care of your chair and table setup and it can hold up to 200 guests. There are many options for guest accommodations nearby.
The Porch YYC - Downtown Calgary
What I love about it
The first time I came to The Porch for lunch I asked them if they do weddings. the sunlight streams in through big open windows and skylights and the modern, mediterranean inspired decor is so beautiful. It’s one of my favourite restaurants in Calgary for the delicious food, modern cocktails and prime location right off 17th Avenue. It’s impossible not to be happy in this space and as the name alludes, it feels like you’re hanging out on a beautiful summer porch. This place is a hidden gem in Calgary and would make a stunning wedding venue.
The Details
Located off 17th Avenue in Downtown Calgary, The Porch YYC would be the perfect space to host your wedding ceremony and reception. They offer buyout packages and fixed menus for your guests. With a covered patio it would be the perfect space any time of the year.
Aurora Valley Farm - Fort St. John
What I love about it
This new wedding venue is unlike anything we have in Alberta. Although it’s technically in BC, I can’t not mention it. Aurora Valley Farm in located near Fort St. John on a flower farm. Need I say more? Since it’s on a flower farm you’re surrounded by gorgeous flowers all summer, including my favourite - peonies! This venue was designed by a photographer and videographer so the attention to detail is meticulous. the building is white, modern and gorgeous with tons of windows for amazing light, a massive door that opens to the grassy courtyard. The venue includes setup, takedown and anything else you need as well as an extensive catalogue of decor rentals.
The Details
Located between Fort St. John and Dawson Creek Aurora Valley Venue is a working flower farm and full service wedding venue. They offer setup and takedown services. Pricing starts at $8,500 for 2025 weddings and $9,500 for 2026 weddings. They are only offering 10 weddings per season at this beautiful venue so reach out soon.
Park By Sidewalk Citizen - Calgary
What I love about it
Park by Sidewalk Citizen is a wedding photographer’s dream! It’s got beautiful architectural details, tons of windows and natural light and has Central Memorial Park right outside the open garage doors. If you’ve ever eaten at Sidewalk Citizen then you know that their food is next level. This Calgary wedding venue is hip, cool and filled with mid-century modern vibes. If you’re looking for a downtown Calgary venue that’s unique and different with an intimate feel then this one is for you.
The Details
Park by Sidewalk Citizen holds 64 seated guests in the gorgeous solarium with weekend rates starting at $6,000. Located right off Central Memorial Park, the venue is surrounded by lush gardens and fountains with many photo locations including Central Memorial Library a very short walk away. With its downtown location there are many hotel options for getting ready and out of town guests.
The Gem Event Centre - Banff
What I love about it
Boasting a grand main-level reception area and a picturesque loft that looks on from above, The Gem is the perfect Banff wedding venue for both intimate moments and extraordinary celebrations alike. The surrounding mountain vistas serve as a breathtaking backdrop to your event, providing a truly entrancing atmosphere for exchanging vows, dancing the night away and more. With the Opal Bar upstairs and the Onyx Bar downstairs, guests can enjoy elevated beverage options in thoughtfully designed mid-century style spaces.

The Gem is a one stop shop for your Banff wedding. They have a trained culinary team and bar staff to ensure your guests have a flawless experience. The venue comes with seating for up to 150 guests and beautiful winery style wooden chairs. Located at the West End of Canmore there are many options for you and your guests to stay and enjoy the mountains in either in Canmore or Banff.
The Norland Historic Estate - Lethbridge
The Norland Historic Estate Venue in Lethbridge s a perfect choice if you’re looking for a truly elegant and luxurious venue for your Alberta wedding. Built in 1910, this hidden gem has been meticulously preserved amongst manicured lawns, beautiful gardens, and mature trees. Bridgette Bar - Canmore
What I love about it
If you live in Calgary you’ve likely been to Bridgitte Bar, a Calgary staple known for it’s amazing food and great vibes. Bridgitte Bar has recently opened a second location in Canmore and lives up to the hype. With warm, mid-century decor and delicious food and cocktails its the perfect venue in Canmore to host your wedding. Located along Spring Creek in the heart of Canmore it’s surrounded by mountain views while still having a cool city vibe. The bonus of this venue is that its already so beautiful inside you don’t have to spend a lot of money and time to make it look awesome.
