Intimate Downtown Calgary Wedding at Orchard YYC

Low key, intimate weddings have always had my heart but now that full wedding days are back post Covid I appreciate smaller weddings even more. There’s just something about being surrounded with only your nearest and dearest, without all the drama of a big guest list and a wedding party that is so much more meaningful. Also, a lot of my weddings are out in the mountains so I get really excited when I have the opportunity for a city wedding. There are so many incredible venues in downtown Calgary that I’m dying to shoot at and Orchard YYC was definitely at the top of my list.

When Nhi and Tanner contacted me to shoot their intimate wedding at Orchard I was immediately onboard. We had a few rescheduling challenges with Covid but because they had such a chill day planned that they were able to pull it off with really short notice. Orchard is a photographer’s dream, with lush plants hanging everywhere and gorgeous crystal chandeliers reflecting the sunlight. The beauty of being downtown is that we took a quick stroll around the block and had so many amazing backdrops to choose from and they were back in time for a cocktail on the sunny patio, just the two of them before joining their guests.
